    Hi,

I’m building a WP site, but I also have another site that I’m trying to link with the WP site as seamlessly as possible.

The site (www.descentofspecies.com) would work wonderfully with the WP site if I could just add it as a menu item, and then below the header, that site is displayed (I’m working on the site, under construction lol).

If I’m making any sense, is this even possible?

I will migrate everything over to a better host (Siteground.com) as well, i.e. with a single domain name and one account.

    Thanks, Shawn

  • Mm.. not sure I’m following – do you mean you want to add links to the site under the menu..?

I’m not sure myself. I’d like to add a menu item in WP, that allows me to load this page under the menu: My other site

Both the WP and my other site (the link above) are in their early stages. I’m trying to figure out how to integrate them, since they are intrinsically linked.

I’m not quite sure, but it sounds like what you’re asking is loading a big iframe into the menu, might that be correct?

You might be able to do that with a menu plugin that allows custom html, but you would have to test it and see.

    I think that’s what I’m asking. All within a single domain…

are U asking when you click on one of the menu’s iteims to jump to another webpage?

So for example, Here is the main site (it’s WP):

    Main site

And here is the other site I’m building:

    Site

    How do I integrate them?

There is no easy way to integrate them. Using iframes really isn’t a good way to do that.

Best would be to simply link from one to another or to move the second site into your WP site.

How do I do that, integrate them? I don’t want iFrames or disparate domains.

If you want them to be all one site, you could see if TablePress plugin will do what you want with that second site. It’s an amazing plugin with GREAT support from the developer.

Mm.. how do you mean by integrate? Just have them in one domain?

If that’s the case, why not just move the entirety of the site to a subdomain of the main site(or subdirectory)?

That might work, but it really depends on how you want to have them together.

    Thanks for the replies:)

I’ve moved to SiteGround, so it’s all on one server now, in the same domain:) I’ve also asked a support question about TablePress to see if a “re-think and combine” method might be feasible.

I really think it’s silly to have two completely-different-looking presentations when it’s all meant to be united.

Thanks for your help. Long journey ahead:)

    Shawn
