    for questions with wordpress.com blogs, please ask at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    I gave an example that was wordpress.com but my blog is not supported by wordpress.com
    My blog is http://www.ourverdantgarden.com

    Here is the response that I received from wordpress.com when I posted there:

    I’m still a newbie and would like to use the twenty-eleven theme but I’d like to ad sponsors as shown in the showcase link below:

    Is this possible? or is another theme advised?

    The blog you specified at http://www.ourverdantgarden.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

    This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

    If you don’t understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

    you could use textwidget(s) to enter the html code for the linked images;

    example structure for each sponsor image:

    <a href="http://linktosponsorsite"><img src="http://urlofsponsorimage" alt="sponsornameoptional" /></a>

    or try a plugin such as
    (search result only, no recommendation, have not used it myself)

    thank you! I will try that.
