# Adding a theme, error recieved

 * I have recently purchased a theme to put as part of my wordpress website. When
   i go to appearance> themes> upload theme, everything works fine till there but
   when 100% of the theme is uploaded it moves over to a different page that gives
   me a message saying “500 (INTERNAL SERVER) ERROR, we are working to correct it”
 * I have been trying for the past 2 days and it still doesn’t seem to be resolved,
   unfortunately. I know it isn’t an error with the theme because i have purchased
   another theme from the same website for another one of my own website and it 
   uploaded and worked just fine.
 * Kindly guide me as per how i can fix this because building this website is a 
   priority issue for my work. Any guidance about this issue will be greatly appreciated.

 * Internal server error is not specific to WordPress, and it can happen with anything
   else running on your server as well.
 * Perform the instructions provided on this page [http://wpmu.org/ten-of-the-most-common-wordpress-problems-and-their-solutions/](http://wpmu.org/ten-of-the-most-common-wordpress-problems-and-their-solutions/)
   in the section **1. 500 Internal Server Error**
 * You can also try uploading theme using FTP in wp-content/themes/ folder and activate
   it from Admin -> Appearance -> Themes from the back end.
