Support » Plugin: Custom Sidebars - Dynamic Widget Area Manager » Adding a sidebar to a page

  • Resolved shamrockoz

Ok – forgive the rookie question but here goes!!

My website currently has no posts – just pages and I am trying to add a right sidebar to certain pages.

Looked at the documenation and it seems I can add by categories. I would assume these are post categories, but since I do not have posts I cannot see any categories.

So how do I add a right side bar for certain pages?

  • Just an update here -:

    1) Divi theme
    2) I have a txt widget in Theme sidebar
    3) I tried putting in the same txt widget in Custom sidebar – no luck. Took it out – no luck.
    4) In the page, added the custom sidebar – no luck
    5) Added sidebar to footer – worked.

But trying to add a right sidebar (not sure how to ‘tell’ it to be on the right) did not display.

    Hi @shamrockoz,

Thanks so much for your patience here, sorry if we missed this til now!

To get specific sidebars to show only on certain Pages, simply create the sidebars you need and give them names that are easy for you to remember.

Then edit the Pages and you’ll see a section to specify a sidebar for each. You can select the sidebar per each Page that way.

In case it helps too, our Usage page here has a lot of detail:

It’s for the premium version but all the basic functionality is there as well.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re describing about the right sidebar though, could you maybe provide some screenshots of the widget section of your site along with a screenshot showing the settings you have for that custom sidebar?

Looking forward to getting this sorted for you asap!
