    I want to add a downloadable PDF link to my site. I have added the file from the media library but everytime I click on it instead of going directly to the PDF Page it goes to the media attachment page first and then I have two click the link on that. I don’t understand how I can make a link go directly from the site to the PDF page avoiding the media attachment page. Can anyone help?

    When you add the link to the pdf via the Media Library, you are given the option of linking to an attachment page or to the file itself. You need to choose the latter.

    What do you mean by ” insert it into a button”?

    this is the link that works.
    Terms and Conditions 2016

    When I put it into a clickable button it wont work

    [button color=”primary” size=”small” url=”<a
    href=”http://www.homestayenglish.uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/terms-and-conditions-2016.pdf&#8221; rel=””>Terms and Conditions 2016 ” target=”self”] Terms and conditions [/button]

    The above code appears to be using shortcode functionality provided by a plugin. It’s possible that this plugin simply won’t work with inserted media links but you’d need to address this question to the plugin’s author to find out for sure.

    No problem 🙂

    PDF file appears as a Post in Library.
    When I use Add Media to upload a pdf file it shows as an image of the pdf rather than the icon. Then when I add a link it shows a post not a pdf image. It works ok on one website but not on the other.
