Adding A New Slide Breaks MetaSlider – Then Shows Images Vertically

    Hi

    I have been having a problem with MetaSlider since late last week. I’ve recreated the problem, although it has required more slides than last week.

    Anyway here’s a link to the problem page:

    This actual slider is a duplicate on the slider on the following page with an additional image added. That is the only difference:

    As you can see with the above slider it is working perfectly.

    1. I have disabled all plugins, except MetaSlider, without success.

    2. I have tried the default Twenty-Nineteen theme without success.

    3. <?php wp_footer(); ?> is in the footer.php

    4. Up-to-date MetaSlider Version: 3.15.1

    5. The Print CSS and/or Print JS options are visible in the working slideshow, but disappear in the broken one after the additional image has been added.

    When viewing the preview and actual page I have seen nothing come up in the Console, that appears to be causing a problem. But I really don’t know what I’m looking for and perhaps there is something that you may wish to ask further questions about.

    Also, after adding the additional image the ‘Title’ and other info disappears. The preview displays just like on the page in the link.

    I would appreciate any assistance, as I really like this program and wish to continue using it.

    Hi @ahipgrave,

    For this you just need to ask your hosting company to increase the max_input_vars setting on the server to something higher, like 9999999.

    Just a quick update. They were worried that the value you suggested could have a negative impact on the server.

    I was told to change the values via cPanel / multiphp ini editor. I doubled the value for max_input_vars from 1000 to 2000 and have experimented with the MetaSlider slideshows. All seems to be working really well now. I will do some work on them tomorrow and see how it goes.

    2000 should be fine, but you might run into issues again if you double the current amount of slides you have. Let me know if you have any more questions.
