Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Adding a donation to the price

  • Hello, I am building an e-commerce website using WooCommerce and wish to add a donation percentage onto the final payment of a product.

For example, when a customer buys a product, a $5 charity donation is automatically deducted in the transaction. So if a customer buys a top for $130, $5 automatically goes directly to a charity (of choice) and I receive $125. This way no separate form is needed and everything is done in one go.

I was reading that can do something but the customer has to manually add a donation price. I will use this if I have no other choice but wanted to see if anyone has done something similar before and can assist?.

Howdy! won’t allow you to take a % of the total of an order and use that as a donation. I am afraid it’s not a good fit.

Typically a donation is in addition to the purchase. It’s almost like you are wanting to do a commissions kind of thing but the commission won’t go to the Vendor or Reseller, it goes to a certain charity. You might actually be able to use Product Vendors and instead of using reseller, each Product Vendor represents a charity. I am not sure how you would handle pay outs, but this would allow you to take a certain %.

    What do you think?
