Adding a comment count and comment bubble to every post headline

  • I’ve been trying to add a comment bubble and a custom image (bubble) that shows next to my post headline and don’t really know where to start. Here’s an example of what I wanna do http://makingitlovely.com/

I’ve looked for answers everywhere but haven’t been able to accomplish this. I’m using a TwentyTen child theme.
I need to know what HTML code to add to what folder, as well as what CSS code to use to insert the image, and where exactly I need to add it in the style sheet.

    Anyone can help?

have a look through the code of Twenty Eleven how it is done there.

Yeah I tried adding the code of Twenty Eleven to my child theme in the style sheet and loop.php file but had no success and I’m don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’d appreciate a more detailed answer since I’m new here and know very basic HTML. I’d greatly appreciate anyone’s input.

OMG you rock! Thank you so much this solved the problem, but now I need to get rid of the “leave a comment” that shows instead of the number zero when the entry doesn’t have any comments. And also, I’d like to still have the “leave a comment” button under each post, which now has disappeared.

    Hi
I tried the code found at http://pastebin.com/BkPwSF1H

but it still doesnt not display the comment count for the twenty ten theme?
