Added Categories don’t appear on Home Page

    I uploaded a theme, everything appears to be OK, but when I added 2 new categories using WP/Manage/Categories/Add New, they do not appear on home page when I refresh the page. Is there something else I must update or modify?
    Thanks. Just starting out.
