Add website to existing blog

  • In easy-to-understand language….I have an existing blog. Now I want to begin a website to add to that blog. How, step-by-step, do I do that? Will it be on the same page, same domain name? How do I begin creating the website? Will it appear on my blog page? Please help. I am a newbie so please, please, please be specific.

Thank you to whoever is willing to help me!

    Best,
    Cathy

I have a static front page, where my “About” page is. Is that where I add my website?

You don’t need to “add” a web site. You just need to change WordPress’ configuration slightly to suit a site as opposed to a blog. What you choose for your static front page is entirely up to you.

You will just need to add new pages. If you already have a wordpress blog you already have a website. You can make a homepage that shows your company details, Make a contact page using any contact form plugin.

Thank you. I guess I just didn’t understand that. Someone said I had to get a separate domain name, similar to my blog name (.org as opposed to .com) to start a website. But I wanted it all in one place! Thanks…
