When a visitor tries to add an item to their cart, they are taken to a ‘Your cart is empty page’.

Thanks in advance for helping solve this issue.

Have you attempted this with Jigoshop as your only active plugin to confirm that there are no conflicts? Next, try a default theme.

Have you had a Caching plugin installed previously? If so, you may have forgotten to clear it and disable it prior to uninstalling?

Are any of the active plugins listed known to cause issues?

I know very little about WP. A few questions:

    • Will deactivating a plugin cause issues? Will the data created by those plugins be lost?
    • If I change the theme to a default theme, will there be issues?

I discovered that the sessions directory was not writeable by the web server. Once this was fixed, the ‘add to cart’ functionality worked great.

@midnightweb – This setting should be made within your ‘php.ini’ file. Unfortunately, mos webhosts (depending upon package) don’t give you access to this. Please ask your webhost to make your PHP Sessions directory writable.
