Support » Plugin: Pixel Cat - Conversion Pixel Manager » Add to cart event

We are experiencing a large difference in add-to-cart events measured with pixel cat and abandon carts that we can analyse with another tool.

For September our numbers according to pixel cat are:

    link clicks: 2.222
    add-to-cart: 683
    conversions: 72 (thats an ATC-Conversion-Rate of about 10 %)

Whereas the other tool shows us only:
    278 started carts
66 abandon carsts (that also include testcarts we created ourselves).

Do you have an Idea as to why the add-to-cart-number is so high when measured with pixel cat?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello timfeige

We do not know what this other tool is, or how it’s tracking works, so we cannot comment further on this.

Pixel Cat install the basic Pixel Tracking software from Facebook, which is very reliable. I would trust it’s data over any other tools.

If you have created this add-to-cart event yourself with the Event Builder in Pixel Cat lite, it will fire anytime someone visits the page you assigned the event to, whether or bot the actually added something to the cart.

If you are using one of our e-commerce integrations, we will detect the add to cart behavior each time an item is added to cart, so that could be why the numbers are so different.

Without knowing more about this other tool, it is impossible to say.
