Support » Plugin: AddToAny Share Buttons » Add To Any causes error in amp validation

  • Resolved gamerwithadegree

    according to the plugin page Add To Any is supposed to be mobile optimised and AMP compatible, however it causes an error when validating my amp pages.

    The error is:

    Prohibited or invalid use of HTML Tag
    The attribute ‘media’ may not appear in tag ‘style amp-custom’.
    1 instance
    Line 36:0
    <style id=’A2A_SHARE_SAVE-css’ media=’all’>

    it is caused by the media attribute. Is there a way to fix this or can the plugin be updated to resolve this issue?

    AddToAny still supports AMP and isn’t the root cause of that AMP validation error on your AMP pages.

    For AMP, AddToAny outputs the proper <style amp-custom> tag instead of the <style id='A2A_SHARE_SAVE-inline-css' type='text/css'> tag.

    So troubleshoot your site by deactivating other plugins/components to find what’s causing non-AMP <style> tags to appear on your AMP pages. Cache and “optimization” plugins are especially suspect.
