    Hello,

I had a blog hosted on wordpress.com. It was located at http://gamenation.wordpress.com. On the sidebar, I had a simple little counter showing how many people have viewed the page.

I am in the process of moving my blog to my own server, and was wondering if that sidebar widget is available for people who install WordPress on their own server? If so, can someone provide me the link to it? Thank you.

Too bad no one responded to Ahrenba. I would like a counter too.
There is a link click counter (more complex) here

Ok so I hope I'm posting in the correct place.
I installed wordpress on my host and got it up running with no problems. I was looking for a stat counter and found this post. I installed the plug in as indicated and uploaded it my problem is that I need an API key to activate it do I have to register a blog account with wordpress to get an API key?? If so this API key will be used both for my wordpress blog account(if I register) and for my website too?

Both akismet and the stats plugin use the API given when you signup for a wordpress.com account and not this forum account. Kinda crazy, but you need to register for the wp.com site for the API.

Though wordpress.com has made the stat feature available as a plug in, but is it possible to put the "blog stat" counts as a widget like a wordpress.com site?

that's really useful to tell how much total hits we get on the site.
