    Hi, You guys have been very helpful in the past and I hope you can help here.

    On my category pages products are displayed very nicely in the grid that I required.
    What I need to do at the top of each category page is to add some of my own text and a picture so hat I can introduce that category to my visitors.
    This will also help with SEO as I can use the keywords I want on that page. Each category display page should have it’s own unique content.

    There is a plugin “Category Editor” available but this is not 100%.
    Is there a Woo plugin that can do this? I have looked but can’t find anything.
    Looking forward to your reply, thanks.
    Janek

    Hi @jansnowski. 🙂

    If you navigate to ProductsCategories in your site’s admin area, you’ll find an option to add a description and upload a thumbnail for each category you click Edit on.

    Whether or not a category’s description/thumbnail display on the front end of your site depends on your theme’s code. I’m not aware of any plugin that will specifically do what you need here, so believe custom code is your best bet.

    If you’re comfortable experimenting with custom code, the following documents contain snippets that will help you to achieve your end goal here:

    I see you’re already using a child theme, so you could add the above snippets to your child theme’s files.

    Another option, if you’re not comfortable with experimenting with custom code, is to contact your theme’s author directly to see if they can guide/help with the customizations you need to make.

    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi Siobhan, Thank you for the response. Yes I have done that and for a small intro header that description is fine but I need more text and images. That plugin I mentioned I have tried out on the site and it has a TinyMCE type text field, see here: https://www.silverjewelryfashions.com/product-category/sterling-silver-wedding-rings/
    What I am trying to do is add an Amazon Native Ad into the text. But when I add the Amazon Ad Code into the “Text” tab the code gets stripped off the first line and last two lines of the script. Here:
    <script type=”text/javascript”>

    </script>
    <script src=”//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/onejs?MarketPlace=US”></script>
    Do you have any idea how I can keep this so that the Ad can be displayed?
    I can give you admin access if you would like.
    Thank you, Janek

    Hi again Janek,

    You could make use of a plugin to embed JavaScript code in a page. The following tutorial has some suggestions and a nice overview of the steps you’d need to take:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-easily-add-javascript-in-wordpress-pages-or-posts/

    More specific customizations go a bit beyond the scope of support we’d be able to provide. If you want a bit more hands-on help and hiring a professional is an option for you, we have some recommendations here:

    https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

    Hope those details help to point you in the right direction. 🙂
