Support » Fixing WordPress » Add text or shortcode to top of Blog Page

  • I have a blog page with tiles for the most recent posts.

    I want to add text to the top of the page. Text that would stay above the array of tiles, describing the blog mission.

    I get to the blog page but when I select “edit page” the editor is completely empty and it won’t acknowledge any shortcode or text.

  • have a look at my latest article; ‘Show Page Title and Content of the ‘Posts Page’ in WordPress’

    adapted, for example:

    <?php //this is to output the content for a 'page for posts' page as set under 'settings' - 'reading'
        if( is_home() && !is_paged() && get_option('page_for_posts') ) {
        $posts_page_id = get_option('page_for_posts'); ?>
        <?php $posts_page = get_page( $posts_page_id ); ?>
        <div class="posts-page-entry-content">
        <?php echo apply_filters('the_content', $posts_page->post_content); ?>
        </div><!-- .posts-page-entry-content -->
    <?php } ?>

    alchymuth, this is fantastic.
    Question: can I load the code into the new Custom CSS box?

    nope; this is php code which would need to be added into the respective template;

    no idea how this is handled in suffusion (?)

    is there a template in your theme with the file name 1r-sidebar.php?

    I will have a look and follow up. My concern is about the theme being updated and washing out the revision. But that’s a small issue right now. First, I’ll find the file.

    suffusion also has its own forum:
