Add protected files using Add Media button

    Can I add WDM protected files to a post using the Add Media button as is normal for unprotected files? When I add files (e.g. a pdf) to a post in my library my theme automatically adds a download button that matches my site’s design. However I will lose this button if I add media by pasting the WDM link to the page. Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi,
    On installation, wpdm creates an HTTP access protect dir named download-manager-files inside the uploads dir. So, you need to keep the files in that directory to block direct access to the file. But, media library is publicly accessible, if you attach a file from the media library, it will be added as URL and anyone will be able to download the files following that URL. However, editing button CSS to making it matching with your theme is easy. Also, you may try https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-image-button/
