The Add Product UI has changed drastically in 2.5.5. I’m no longer seeing the menu items under Product Data (General, Inventory, Shipping, Linked Products, etc.).

I can see all of the fields for all menus as if they were expanded at once.

When attempting to enter a variable product I’m able to enter the attributes as well as the variations. However, I’m not able to expand the variations to enter their details (sku, price, etc). When I click on the down arrow nothing happens.

I’m assuming this change to the UI isn’t intentional because it’s not mentioned in the changelog.

I first noticed this problem when updating a site I’m creating but also tested it on a fresh install of wordpress 4.4.2. I tested across the most recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and IE on Windows 7.

    Is this a known issue?

I’d suggest clearing browser caches, and any other caches such as cloudflare or CDNs. Sounds like a JS error.

I don’t seem to have an issue on 2.5.5 or any other 2.5 release http://glui.me/?i=5q5f7g5qioom42e/2016-03-11_at_22.52.png/

Thanks for the response. I found the source of the problem. I’m working on a local server on a Windows 7 machine with BitDefender Internet Security 2016 as my virus/malware scanner. It was blocking a woocommerce asset:

The webpage at …/assets/js/admin/meta-boxes.min.js is identified as infected with malware. Virus name: Trojan.Script.652976. The webpage has been successfully blocked by Antimalware filter.

Strange. Did you check that file to make sure it is indeed our version? May just be false positive.

It was downloaded / updated from the WordPress repository. It’s also flagging 2.5.4 as infected now too. If I disable my virus scanner everything works as expected so I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved.

    Thank you.

    Hi Guys

Just got the same Trojan script virus warning and now it is not working. That is on clean new site on PC. Can someone confirm that the files are not compromised please?

This is the first time that this has happened so something must be there to trigger the antivirus.

    Any reply will be great.

    Thanks

I downloaded the plugin last night – nothing strange in the file. Does you scanner offer more details/a page on the topic, or have a way to report false positive?

I’ve re-minified the file and added a comment so that at least if its a false positive, it shouldn’t flag the file again. If it does, please report to the scanner as a false positive. The file is fine.

    Thanks Mike
That did the trick and now there is no problem. I did some more testing and I was able to get everything back working once I used the minified version back to 2.5.2.

Now I have done a new clean installation with 2.5.5 again and there is no problem either:-)

    Much appreciated 🙂
