Support » Fixing WordPress » Add plugins and themes from internet within a local installation

  • I’m using WordPress in a local installation (LAMP on Arch Linux). Works fine, except for the fact that when I try to install a plugin it shows the following message:

    Connection Information

To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access to your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you do not remember your credentials, you should contact your web host.

And then ask for my ftp credentials… obviously I’m not using a ftp account so I’m completely lost :S.

I know that I can download the file, unzip it and put it in the plugins and themes folder, but it’s kind of slow and tedious versus click “install”.

I have no clue where should start looking or where might me the problem… any help would be really appreciated 🙂
