# Add plugin to theme

 * Hey everyone!
 * I’m working on a new theme and I want to add some features like a newsticker.
   These exist as plugins. Is it possible to add a plugin to my theme. With other
   words, is it possible to add a newsticker to my theme with the code from the 
   plugin?

 * Yes it is. You can either take the code from the plugin and add it to your theme,
   but it’s much better to leave it as a plugin. Not sure why you want to integrate
   it in the theme.

 * I wanted this so it’s a lot easier for someone to install my theme without having
   to install a bunch of plugins and configure them. Do I have to put the code of
   the plugin in my functions.php file or what, because I only made a few themes,
   I don’t have a lot of experience.
