    Is this possible with Woocommerce and no plugin?

    What we want to accomplish here is Allowing the customer to choose the items they want progress through, enter in their billing info (CC#, etc), But not send the payment through until the order is viewed and customer contacted, and then put the order through (As a different system is used for the orders – lightspeed, Yes, I know there’s a plugin for lightspeed, but not paying 250 bucks a year for it).

    TLDR;
    Get orders, manually process with CC payment.

    Hi there!

    WooCommerce doesn’t have a built-in feature to delay the payment processing, here’s a solution that should work for your requirements: Possible Workflow:

    1. You can enable a manual payment method, such as Cash on Delivery, and change the title to any other name (e.g., Manual Payment or Payment via External System). This way, customers can complete the checkout process by entering their billing info and selecting this payment option. The payment will not be processed until you manually review the order.
    2. After the order is placed, you can manually contact the customer to verify and confirm their payment information or proceed with their order through your external system (e.g., Lightspeed).
    3. Once you’ve verified and confirmed the order, you can manually change the order status to “Processing” and proceed with the payment manually. This allows you to manage the order flow as you prefer without the automatic charge being processed through WooCommerce.

    If you need a more customized solution, you could work with a developer to create a simple customization that allows you to hold payments until the order is reviewed. This would involve tweaking how WooCommerce handles order statuses and payment gateways.

    Hey @trex2303

    It’s been a while but I just wanted to quickly follow up here with some additional information.

    While it’s true that WooCommerce does not have this kind of feature, you can indeed use a plugin like WooCommerce Payments or Stripe to pre-authorize the payment and then capture it at a later date when you’re ready.

    This method does has it’s pros and cons and we have a blog post here that dives into this in more detail: https://woocommerce.com/posts/manual-authorization-capture-payments/

    You’re welcome to contact us again if you have any more questions. 🙂

    Basically, using an “Order Form” (WPForms), with being able to select items and such and then sending it through which would go to the Owner’s email, with all the proper information needed. Then the owner and do all the processing needed.
