    Thanks, it works now.

I am trying to create a feed, and have registered it, but I keep getting an error:
    Connection failed. (1 error)

Failed to connect to the remote server. Please make sure the source URL in your feed configuration is a valid one.
    Examples:
    Url
    http://oldtimglass.com/product-feed

    I am using http://oldtimeglass.com/product_feed

I’m not sure what is wrong. Does it matter what the file is named?I’ve tried data_feed.xml, product_feed.xml. oldtimeglass.com_product_feed

I don’t know what to do from here..any help would be appreciated!

    url is oldtimeglass.com

    Thanks!

    sorry..typo

    I’m using http://oldtimeglass.com/product-feed

It looks like firefox can’t connect. How do I fix that? I’m (obviously) pretty new to this!

    Works fine for me: http://i.imgur.com/cxLBtao.png

I think I fixed it. It was just a problem with my firewall. 🙁

As Vivahealthylifestlye asks “How to add the page address http://your-site.com/product-feed to google? The merchant center required file as a source but not a URL.
    Please advise for dummy.
I’m sure I’m missing something very simple.”

All you have to do is give the default name of the feed file mate. Pointing to useless Google articles that repeatedly tell us WE NEED A FEED NAME is a bit pointless.

It’s a great little plugin but you need to work on the basic documentation as I’m half an hour in and still can’t get a file name for Google Merchant.

    sooooooooo, WHAT’S THE FILE NAME?

maybe file should be named just “product-feed”? please help to understand 🙂

    I just named mine data_feed.xml.

Claudio’s plugin is great! It is set up so that if you leave the unique identifier section blank it adds the identifier exists= FALSE by default. Saves a lot of time and stress if you need that option. My site is all antique glass, so it doesn’t have any brands or upcs. Highly recommended! I have zero issues now with my Google Feed!

so probably the name doesn’t matter? it must be included into faq…

I don’t think the name really matters..I think it’s more important that it’s in the right format, like .xml
