[resolved] Add on domain exclusions (2 posts)

Greetings - I'm using a HostGator shared account, and have 11 domains hosted on it. Each of the add on domains have backed up as expected by UpdraftPlus 1.6.2, with backups being sent to the ftp directory set up to archive them. Each add on domain has a wp-content/updraft directory which keeps the log file in txt file. So far, so good.
I have 2 questions related to backing up the main domain.
*1 I added exceptions for each of the add on domain directories (under "Exclude these:" upgrade,cache,updraft,index.php,backup,backups,siteA.com,siteB.com,siteC.com,etc.com), but they're still being included. What format should I be using?
*2 The site slows to a crawl while attempting to back up the main domain, and sometimes locks up long enough to get a message that the site is down. Is this normal? FWIW, I'm using the WP Cloudflare plugin & service.

    Thanks for your assistance.

Question 1: Please can you send me the log file of a backup run? Use pastebin.com, or alternatively email it to contact@updraftplus.com.

Question 2: No, it's not normal. Creating a backup basically involves creating a zip file of your website. UpdraftPlus only runs one backup thread at a time (i.e. no parallel tasks are done, precisely because we want to not overtax servers - because we aim to be compatible whereever we can). So, if just running a backup causes the server to crawl, then this means that the server is either chronically overloaded or chronically under-provisioned. If you send me the log file from 1. then it has some information which can help confirm that analysis.
