Im on a mac and tried pressing both cmd and ctrl with F12 while the window was open but nothing happened in Firefox.
Do I need to be using a specific tool or browser with this short cut?

Hi @tim_marston, no you don’t. What he wanted is to check browser console errors. Check this https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#firefox for reference.
On firefox you open it by navigating to Tools > Web Developer > Error Console or press Ctrl + Shift + J.

I installed Addblock in my Firefox thinking that it may be the error but no.
Did you try to open the popup in other browsers? Chrome, IE, etc?

Ok, so in FF, I cleaned cache, tried again, got the same error, so went to the error reporting console tab and got this:

The issue was a compatibility issue with WordPress 4.x. This was resolved in 2.0.0.4
