Add new menu location?

    Greetings,

    I am using a premium theme, but I got it with a limited time offer for free, so I don’t have a purchase code to use their support.

    If there’s anyone that could still help me, that’d be awesome.

    Would it be possible to add a new menu location under my logo/header area or just make it part of the header? In the customizer, it has me choose whether i want a menu above or below the header, but preferably I’d like to have one in both spaces. I’d also like to slide my logo to the left and be able to insert a banner image into the header if possible.

    Hi Lucas,
    sure you can add menus. But this will probably not be easy and you should have at least some understanding of HTML and PHP.
    This is how I would do it (after running a backup and possibly on a stating site):
    1. Create a child theme
    2. Add Menu location in functions.php of your child theme
    3. Add Menu location to the theme file where the header is rendered (and the place where you want it – depends much on the theme which file that is. You will have to look through the code to find it. When found, copy THAT file to the child theme directory and edit it.

    You can find a pretty good explanation on WPMUDEV.

    This is not trivial, so you will have to spend some time learning and testing.

    I’m sorry, but that’s still not supported here even if you somehow got it for free.

    For pro or commercial product support please contact the author directly on their site. This includes any pre-sales topics as well.

    As the author is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.
