  • Is it possible to add a new Discount code once a show is active?

    We are trying to get support for our plugin StageShow and have sent a topic on the forum, but there is a post showing:

    This plugin has been closed as of January 31, 2020 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.

    Can you please advise what this means?? As our entire website is functioning with this plugin..

    Plugins installed on your website should continue to function. Malcolm is the developer of Stageshow and has been fairly absent for a little while now. He has done incredible work to get it to where it is now. I hope this is not the end for Stageshow, I really do. I was happy with the if and when Malcolm was available to tinker to get updates but until we have a definite answer we are all in limbo at the moment.



    We LOVE this program, and have been very happy with it for many years now.. Hope all is well with Malcolm..

    As do I. Our charitable youth theatre has depended its entire box office on Stageshow and it has brought us through and processed hundreds of thousands of pounds over the years and I feel my right arm would be cut off without it. Hopefully we will hear one way or the other soon.



    Wondering If you might be able to help us then, we are trying to add a new Discount code to our show that is already in sales mode..

    I had created a Comp 0.00$ discount code for our comps so we can display accurate sales vs comps. Somehow it was working and then I added a Group discount for 20.00$ and it seemed to remove the Comp 0.00 discount code.
    Just wondering if you may have come across adding a new discount code once in sales mode..

    Unfortunately I cant.

    I have never spent time on discount codes nor does our organisation use them. I’m sure you could manage if all the bits are locked down because you have live sales now by going and editing the database but that is a really janky thing to do and you could REALLY mess up whats going on in the plugin. Not our of choice i’ve had to re-arrange a seating plan with live sales by doing this method but I had the website down while I did so and had taken multiple backups and did everything methodically. Unless you really really have to I wouldn’t recommend that way.

    I can’t speak for Malcolm himself but…
    I’ve noticed that he did post an update last Friday to version 9.2.1. It was mostly one php file.
    The file concerning is not in the updated version. It is even listed as removed.
    So I suppose that there is something wrong with this file. you can take a glance of this at the development log. Probably Malcolm himself did temporarily blok any download until it is solved.


    There was a security issue with the v9.2.0 version released – we automatically detected quite a serious vulnerability when one of our hosting customers updated the plugin to that version and so had to report it. The offending file has been removed from v9.2.1 and is just awaiting a review by WordPress before they allow the plugin again. If you are using v9.2.0 then I would recommend removing the file in question as it provides a backdoor into your hosting account.
