    For example, let’ say this WP site uses a bg image which is repeated. Would it be possible to add two more images on top as seperate elements on either side of the page which would be fixed images?

    I ask because I use a 5px*1200 image for the bg, and I would like to add two more fixed images to either side.

    Suggestions or ideas to do this?

    Thank you

    Hopefully your bg doesn’t take too long to load. That’s the reason for tiled bg images, the browser only has to load one tile and the CSS handles the distribution. Anywho, will this help? http://tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/graphicalcss/rap/index.html

    If I understand the question, what you want to do is something like:

    body {
    background-image:url(images/image1.gif);
    background-image:url(images/image2.gif);
    background-image:url(images/image3.gif);
    }
    Right?

    You could try it, but my feeling is it ain’t gonna work.

    What you would need to do is create three divs and give them a background image each.

    But I may have misunderstood. It was the ‘two more elements on top… …on either side of the page’ that kind of made my eyes cross.

    that is what I am sort of trying to do, as you correctly illustrated – I was thinking seperate divs and duplicating the original code and then just shifting it with px.

    any one else have an opinion on this?

    thanks
