[Resolved] Add Meta widget to sliding left menu – remove it from footer menu.

    Hi
I would like to only have one menu – the lefthand sliding menu and as I have a static front page I would like to remove all footers

I can’t find a way to add the ‘Meta’ (Login etc,) widget to a custom menu.

Is this possible or am I doing things the wrong way round?

    Thanks
    David

Hi David, the meta widget can be added to any widgetized area in a theme, but if you want the links in the meta widget to be part of a custom menu instead, you can always add each link manually to your menu as a custom link.

Let me know how it goes. If you need further help, providing a link to your site would be helpful.

    Hi Kathryn
    Thanks for the reply.

The concept I’ve been working on has undergone a major revision – wow, that sounds like I’ve really done something great!

I’ve realised that the way I want it to work will only work if I have multi-site – and you guessed it – I have installed my current site in its own subdirectory – because I used named virtual hosts and it seemed a good idea at the time.

So, I’m going to have to reinstall in the root directory and start from scratch. Such is life.

I’m sure I’ll be back, though as I really like the Syntax theme.

    Thanks again for your help

    David
