    Hi there,

I’ve got a really simple question.

I’ve installed the plug-in, created a new menu under “Appearance -> Menus”, and assigned it “Primary navigation”.

However, when I follow the next step and navigate to “Appearance -> Editor -> Navigation” to add the menu to my header, which exact steps do I need to follow? I can’t figure out how to add the menu to my header.

    Help will be much appreciated.

    With best wishes,
    Lennart

    Hi Lennart,

Thank you for using my plugin.

Now you need to add default Navigation block into your header and choose the “Primary” menu location in the block options.

Check the screenshots for visual preview (the first screenshot is showing Navigation block setup) and/or FAQ section in plugin description.

    Best regards,

    Oliver

Oh, sorry, now I’ve noticed you’ve mentioned “Appearance Editor Navigation“.

This is not a place to edit the menu. Actually, the plugin is meant to bypass this navigation menu editing with classic WordPress menus edit screen.

You actually need to edit the Navigation block in your header template part:

    1. Depending your theme, you need to navigate to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → All Template Parts and edit the template part that displays your navigation – most likely it is a “Header” template part.
    2. Then find the Navigation block in the template part content (you may use a list view as mentioned in the resources above) and edit the block options to display the “Primary” menu location.

    Dear Oliver,

Ah, thank you! Indeed, I was trying to use Appearance → Editor → Navigation, instead of Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Header. It all worked now.

I’m not sure if this happened only to me, but it might be an idea clarifying this in the documentation,

Thanks so much for your quick help,
    Lennart

    Hi Lennart,

That’s a great suggestion! I’ve updated the plugin FAQ now.

    Best regards,

    Oliver
