Add media button not there for Author role

    Hi all,

    The add media button is not displayed for the author user role.

    The strange thing is that this button is there and working for the admin role.

    Already tried all of the following to get this button for the author role:
    – switch themes
    – add the javascript concatflag to false via wp-settings.pho
    – disabled all plugins
    – removed all plugins
    – made sure browser cache refreshed
    – tested in different browsers (firefox, chrome)
    – tried other suggestions from earlier version for the same problem

    Inbetween have tried to see if the add media button would show for author role but to no avail.

    What wordpress developer knows:
    – why this button keeps being a problem in different versions
    – how come the button is not shown for the author role while it is displayed for the admin role?

    I think it’s the way WP roles are set up.

    Get a plugin that lets you tweak role options and you shoild be able to add the media button.
