Add Media Button does not work in WP 3.5 - Fixed with Jquery command (2 posts)

    Hi, I have 0 knowledge of coding and things like that, but I use this theme because I like the way it looks, and it's always done what I needed it to do.

    After updating to WP 3.5, trying to "Add Media" to my posts does nothing...and I'm sure there are some other problems related to javascript that I havn't found yet.

    Anyway, I went into my cpanel and found wp-config.php and hit edit code and typed in

    define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);

    then, I went to my test website which basically mirrors my real site, and the add media button finally worked.

    So, I have no idea if that would help the developer make changes. I have NOT upgraded to Custom Community 1.10 because I heard there are still problems with the Jquery, and I'm scared to lose everything I've already done.

    So...can I get by for the time being to include that script debug thing?

    EDIT: Just found another solution with 1 line fix.

    you use define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); instead of the one above.

    What's the difference? Which one is the better fix?

    This issue is caused by a plugin or theme replacing the built in jQuery UI library with a different version. This is specifically ill-advised here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script

    The solution is to alter the plugin or theme so the built in version of jQuery UI is used.

    More details on this problem here where we exchanged comments. Sorry if it feels like I am following you around the web offering the same advice: http://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress/comments/14y2pk/anyone_else_have_dashboard_issues_while_using/
