Support » Plugin: Atomic Blocks - Gutenberg Blocks Collection » Add link to image in AB Profile Box

  • Resolved Jack

I love this box, especially because it allows for plenty of social media links, including email and website. Same as the Simple Social Icons plugin.

Currently I’m trying to use it in two ways: once for team members, and once for logo’s with companyname and icons. In this case I would like to have the image logo to be a link to that company.

I added a link in two places when adding the image to this AB Profile Box, but none of them work, so I quess this is not coded in the plugin. Could this be added please?

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for writing in. Are you saying you’re trying to add a link to the image that is loaded on the left of the author profile box? If so, we don’t have a link available on that image at this time. The best you could do for now is to use the website link in the social icons.

You could also add a link into the profile text area, as you see here.

Yes that was what I meant, a link to the image loaded on the left. For now we use the website link like you suggest, but because people tend to click on images 😉 I think it would be a nice addition if the website link would also work on the image. If not, adding the website name and link in the Profile text area is also an option.

+1! I also need this, the profile image should be opened in a Lightbox.
This works when the image is wrapped in an anchor element (<a>) to the full size image.

@starsis, I think this is not the same idea/result as in my case. In my case I would like a link to the entered website, but want it to be a link to the author image. Which makes more sense ofcourse because it is an author profile box. The only way that I can see that would work in each case would be a checkbox next to each link. The checked link would be the link used for the image. That way everyone can decide of the image links to the author image, website, e-mail or one of the social media pages.

@moxie, @atomicblocks: So the general ability to add a link to the profile image, not just the text. Clicking the profile image should open a lightbox, this works when there is a link to the original image file.
