Add link in header

  • Hi

    I’m trying to rebuild my church’s website in wordpress, and the original site has a image link as part of the header (visit ichthusnewlife.org.uk to see what I mean – it’s the ‘Ichthus’ link at the top of each page). However, I can’t for the life of me work out how to do that! Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help.

    Tim

    How are you building out the new site in WordPress? Are you using a specific theme?

    In general, you would just need to add the image/link in your header.php file.

    I’m using the twenty eleven theme and have created a child theme already.

    Whereabouts in the header would I put the code?

    Thanks

    Copy the header.php file to your child-theme folder, and you can probably stick it in just behind the search box, ie., just after the following code:

    <?php get_search_form(); ?>
    <?php endif; ?>

    and then use CSS to position it where you want it.
