I’m sorry I dont know what you mean by link to forum?
I need help with the css editing of the theme to insert the adsense code under the header and top nav
thanks
Ah I didn’t read it right, sorry, didn’t see it was just the generic 2010 theme.
Um, you should need to add code to the php files directly, not so much the CSS file. I don’t have a vanilla copy installed but I would assume that you would add the Adsense code somewhere in the header.php file.
can anyone help with the code editing please I cant seem to find anything online about it?
Really appreciate it if someone can
Thanks
Hi,
Try my website, funny you could not find it online, there is a twenty ten child theme with this setup you can download.
The sample has the code and uses a widgetized area and template parts to load the widget into the theme.

I Googled wordpress twenty ten adsense and my post is fourth on the first page!

Found this too which sorted it.

Also if you want to center it just ad the <center></center>
Ok!
Mark this one resolved please.
Just my thoughts:
You say you are new to theme development, as you are using the twenty ten theme you have either created a child theme or renamed the default theme?
There is a new version of WordPress at RC2 stage, once this is released any changes to the default ‘twenty ten’ theme will be lost if you use the automatic upgrade.
I am not a fan of hard-coding directly into the pages, that is why I would use a widget area, then the theme is portable and the ad can be changed, you might want to run a specific ad for a period from another provider.
With a widgetized area your customer / site admin could just replace the link in a text widget, hard-coded into the theme not as easy.
