• Hello
I am working on Mac OSX with Snow Leopard.

I’m trying to insert an image into my post. I’ve uploaded my .m4a file to the media section. I inserted it into my post, but it will only insert a link to the video, not the actual video. How can I insert the actual video into my post?

    Here’s the insert code,
    Welcome Message

    Sorry,

    Here’s the insert code,
    <a href='http://localhost:8888/incrediblehealingjournals/?attachment_id=77' rel='attachment wp-att-77'>Welcome Message</a>

You see, it always just adds a link, not the actual video!!!

A .m4a file is not an image file and the code for embedding it is not the same as the code for adding an image.

I didn’t add an image. I uploaded a media file and inserted it into my post. That is the code that wordpress inserted.

I tried installing two podcasting plug-ins but neither work.

The m4a file is an audio file I created on my Mac. It plays fine through the link, it’s just getting it to load directly in the post a page (static), or on a post that I can’t get to work…

My php.ini file supports m4a and m4b files.

The thing is no matter what I do, uploading media and inserting it into a post, inserts a hyperlink to the uploaded file, not the file itself.

    Hello,
Okay, now the podcast is directly on the page where I wanted it with ‘podcasting’ plugin, but the audio keeps buffering and never plays…

Thank you for your help alism and iridiax, I really appreciate it!

Ummm, ya, that’s pretty much all the media upload does (I know, bit crap). You still need to get a plugin to actually play it if you want to embed it on your site, WordPress won’t do that part for you unfortunately.

Pop a link to your site/page with the player on, and the full url of the m4a file too and I’m sure someone will take a looksy.
