• I click on the “add image” button and before the add image dialog box opens there is a striped progress bar. That bar never goes away and so I can’t get into the dialog box to add images. I’m just running this on WP 2.7 and using the classic theme. It’s a brand new installation, as well.

  • Deactivate the Event Calendar plugin.

The Calendar plugin was not activated.

    Try deleting the plugin completely.

Calendar is not installed as a Plugin. (My plugins are Just ‘Akismet’ and ‘Hello Dolly.’) The Calendar is a Widget. On the Appearance > Widgets page, ‘Calendar’ is shown as a Widget which can be dragged to the sidebar. I see no way to remove ‘Calendar’ from the parked Widgets.

Have you tried switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Yup, I dropped the Classic theme and used free Arras, and now everything works fine. Buggy classic, I guess. Thanks.
