Add HTML tag

Hi,

I have created a pinterest account and would like to link this to my website. To make this happen I need to claim my site. This means that I need to add Add HTML tag to index.html file.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

Hello,

Step 1 – Install and activate the OceanWP child theme.
Follow the documentation to activate the child properly – https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/505-import-the-parent-theme-customizer-settings-into-your-child-theme

Step 2 – Copy the index.php file from the parent theme into the OceanWP child theme. Open the copied file and add/edit the code.

Thanks. But in the instruction link it’s stated that a json file will be exported but I can only export a .dat file. Is this a problem ?

No problem, you need to import the .dat file ( previously it was json file ) in the latest version of OceanWP theme.

I did step 2 now. Exported the .dat file. But how do I activate the child theme? I dont see a child theme in the theme menu.

You need to download it from the GitHub.

Thanks. Got this done. But now I need to paste the code in de head section in the index file. Normally the head section is the part between <head> and </head>. But I dont see this in the index file. So where am I suppose to paste the code?

You need to copy the header.php file into the child theme to add the code in the head.

Are you sure? The Etsy site is giving me the following instruction:
“Paste this tag into the <head> section of your site’s index.html file”

Its specifically referring to the index.html and not the header.php

Yes, in wordpress the head tag is in the header.php file or simply use a plugin Insert Header & Footer to add the code in the head.
