add full horizontal fluid gradient footer

I had this working once but changed some things and can’t seem to get it back. I have a header gradient working with an overlay of the wave pic, logo, and text. For the footer i have a footer-container (1000 px width) with 3 sections for nav, quote, and address. I have a separate footer gradient image that should extend past the 1000 px width just like the header gradient does. Obviously i have something out of position. Any help to see what’s happening and how i got it messed up?
