Add Featured posts to header of site

Hi,

I am currently using the tribune theme by wp zoom.

I want to add a featured post section that looks like the recent news on here – http://bizzartic.com/bizzthemes/puremagazine/

The pure magazine is a free theme so I have the code for it but I don’t know how I could implement it into my website.
