  • Hi there,

    It is possible to achieve what you’re after but will require you to experiment a little with the theme’s HTML.

    The first step is for you to set up a child theme.

    In case you’re unsure, the following guides provide a good introduction to child themes, including steps to set one up:

    After you have completed that step, copy the parent’s page-template/front-page.php file to your child theme’s directory and then open it in your favourite text/code editor.

    Locate the following code in that file:

    <?php the_post_thumbnail( 'sela-hero-thumbnail' ); ?>

    You will need to wrap the HTML for your link around the above code.

    (If you’ve never created a link using HTML before then check out this guide.)

    The end result will look something like this:

    <a href=""><?php the_post_thumbnail( 'sela-hero-thumbnail' ); ?></a>

    Replace with the link to your shop.

    Save your changes and then, as the final step, add the following snippet to your child theme’s style.css file:

    .hero-content-overlayer {
        display: none;

    Please note: The assumption that you’re not going to add any text to overlay your featured image is made in the above steps.

    Let me know how you get on with that! I’ll be happy to help with any further questions, too.
