    Hello,

    1. How can I add a new custom taxonomy for location (states). I don’t want to use google map
    2. Replace the location field in the search form with this new location taxonomy as a dropdown list

    Thanks

  • Hi @teeboy4real,

Adding taxonomy for Location would require customization. which unfortunately is not something included in our support. It requires many changes in PHP files. Hiring a private developer may help you with required customization

You can read more about the definition of support here: https://wp-eventmanager.com/support-policy/.

    I hope you can understand.

Too bad it seems I can’t use your plugin anymore since i’m only restricted to using google maps

    Thanks

    Hi @teeboy4real

The Feature is available in the paid addon- Google maps, and hence it would not be available in the core version.

    We hope you understand.

    Thank you

Ok I was just thinking why not rename the addon to (Maps and location) to avoid confusion because the name seems to be restricted to only google map. For example like this plugin https://wpadverts.com/extensions/maps-and-locations/
    https://wpadverts.com/blog/maps-and-locations-1-4-0/

The plugin above enables users to set location by the following means
    1. Custom location taxonomy
    2. Google map
    3. Open Street Maps

    Hi @teeboy4real
I have checked the above links but those addons will work as extensible but it won’t provide more features with event that’s why we haven’t provided any third party link.

If you want to integrate google map features from your end you can easily connect any taxonomy with event listing post type and it should work but this needs customisation from your theme side. If there is any plugin which is compatible with post type then it should work with event listing.

    I hope this helps.
    Thank you
