Add "current" or "active" class to WooCommerce Tag Widget

    Hi there,

    I am using the WooCommerce tag widget to display a filter option for our products. The functionality itself is fine and I could style everything properly with one exception though:

    Whilst other widgets (like the WooCommerce category widget) highlight current / active selections with an added class like current-cat the tag widget doesn’t do so and remains a regular link with no hint as to whether the item is selected or not.

    So all I want is to have a class added to the tag which has been selected / is active. This can be whatever really (“current-tag”?)… How can I best manage to achieve this? Any filter / hook available? Or should I use another plugin? I’d rather stick with the WooCommerce option though…
