I am requesting help with code that will create a copyright symbol and text as well as “terms of use” (clickable with link to page) section in my footer which I would like centered and to appear on all my pages. Thank you, in advance, for your help. My site is http://www.youwillknow.com

Have you tried a plugin like this http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/footer-putter/ ?

I installed footer putter, but I don’t have a footer widget area in Appearance > Widgets to drag the Footer Copyright Widget into via my twenty twelve child theme. Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Adding a footer area to Twenty Twelve is not difficult. Just be sure to first have a Chile Theme…

It’s also not hard to simply add the code you want to the footer.php file if you’d rather do that – and have no real need for widgets there. It kind of depends on how often or who will be maintaining your site and likely wanting to change the footer.

Ah, I did not realize a footer area is not needed to do that. So yes, that would do just fine here.

After some thorough thought and research, I believe it would be best for me as a novice to use the footer putter widget. I reviewed the link posted by ‘leejosepho.’ I only want one footer widget area to drag the Footer Copywright Widget into. I am following the steps at http://www.diywebmastery.com/plugins/footer-putter

I am at Step 7 ‘Setting Up the Footer Copyright’ and just need to get the footer widget area inside Appearance > Widgets. Thanks to everyone for your excellent help!

I found the answer to my issue by reading how to use the Footer Hook field in Footer Putter > Footer Credits. http://www.diywebmastery.com/2950/footer-credits-on-twenty-twelve

Thanks to you all for your input and help in resolving my issue!
