add afp:// link to Links page (4 posts)

under the Links section within WordPress, I'd like to add a link with the afp:// protocol. If I add afp:// before the url, WordPress automatically adds http to the beginning of it and it doesn't work.
    How can I do this?

If you use widgets, you can build a custom link using a text area widget. You can put any sort of custom html in that way.

would this still fall within the "Links" section? That's what I was trying to maintain. Otherwise I could just not use the Links section and just create my own link list

no, that wouldn't fall into the links section.

you could have a special link like that in the links section if you edited your sidebar.php file in the appropriate place. you should be able to easily add it at the beginning or the end of the list of links.
