Add additional plugins to the author roles

    You have these options:
    1) Ask plugin developer what capabilities are used to protect its menu items.
    2) Look into source code for the ‘_menu’, ‘add_menu(‘, ‘add_submenu(‘ keywords and check yourself what capability this plugin uses. You may show related code fragments with that plugin menu definition here, if you will need help.
    3) Use some of admin menu manipulation plugins, like ‘Admin menu editor’ or ‘Admin Menu Access’ module of User Role Editor Pro to get this information automatically via user interface.
