Support » Plugin: Woo Donations » Add ability to modify the text output

  • If possible, could you add the ability to customize more of the text?

    For example, we prefer to use as a placeholder “E.g. 100” and not “Ex.100” and perhaps a different example amount.

    Also, when the user enters an invalid donation amount, I do not like the “Please enter value!!” and “Please enter valid value!!” message as so many exclamation marks seems like shouting at the customer. There is also a missing “a” as in “Please enter a value”.

    Preferably, we can edit the text output by the plugin in the admin screen but WordPress filters would also help. At the moment, I could only do this by editing the plugin code.

    Thank you.

  • I agree 100% – the Ex.100 just looks confusing and will probably put people off, plus the exclamation marks are bad. I don’t know enough to start editing the plugin code so please could these issues be resolved? Thank you

    @eleanorr11 thanks for your agreement.

    If you wanted to edit the plugin code for now, you could do a text search inside the plugin file “woo-donations.php” for the phrases you want to change such as “Ex.100”, “Please enter value!!”, and “Please enter valid value!!”.

    Make sure you create a back up copy of the file first and don’t change anything outside of the quotation marks containing the text to amend.

    Then, of course, if the plugin is ever updated you will need to make these changes again (unless the feature we are asking for is implemented).

    @authentictech thank you for that, I’ll give it a go.

    It’s just very annoying isn’t it that there are 2 small changes that need updating in the plugin to make it a lot better, but no sign of anything happening…..
