[Resolved] Add a line of text after the Testimonials in the Widget

  • DigitalNomad

    @digitalnomad

How can I add a line of text “Click here to see what they’re all talking about” below the testimonials on the widget?

Likely editing a php file, but when I try an ‘echo’ statement in testimonials-widget-widget, I get parse errors.

I’d like to add it to the Widget and not the Shortcode… as I’m using both.

    Thanks!

Why not stick a Text Widget with HTML below your Testimonials Widget?

If you’re wanting to extra information to each testimonials, than see FAQ #3.

Thanks for the response. I wanted the text line as part of the widget, so visually they weren’t separated.

I got it to work (doing the same thing I tried before, so not sure why I didn’t get errors this time) using an echo line. http://www.eighteen04.net/md It’s the last widget.

It would be a useful feature (to me) to have a ‘setting’ where you could add text and HTML. Maybe even wrap it in a DIV that could get .css.

    Thanks!

PS – This widget is awesome! I’m using it on three sites since finding it two days ago.

    Stewart,

I’m very happy that Testimonials Widget is working so well for you. I’ve added your “Custom widget text” suggestion to the TODOs.

    Ciao!

    Stewart,

Upcoming release 2.3.5 or 2.4.0 will have a custom widget text option.

    That’s awesome!

While you’re at it, wrap it in a style for formatting and you’ve got something no one else does. I used a href in mine, too. Maybe something to test.

If you need a beta tester, don’t hesitate to reach out. I have a few test sites I can throw it on to.

@stewart, release 2.4.0 has the custom widget text option. It’s looks like <div class="testimonialswidget_widget_text">Custom widget text</div>.

FAQ 34 and FAQ 35 will be updated with an upcoming release.

Why don’t you contact me directly so that you can help with beta testing? See “Support” for the email address.

Hi all – my client put an href link in that ‘custom text at the bottom of widget’ box in the admin area – and it’s creating a bug where after all the quotes run through, then the link is there by itself with no quote – and then it run back through the quotes again but this time with no href link at the bottom.

Any thoughts on this? @stewart – how did you hardwire that link into the php code? I tried putting my text
    echo “
    Read What Others Are Saying…
in there but it broke the whole thing…

    Thanks for the help!

Upgrade your Testimonials Widget. You’re using an older version.

Silly me. However, I just updated the plugin and the problem is still happening. Strange. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help.

Are you positive you’ve got the latest Testimonials Widget plugin installed and activated?

The ‘read more’ code should be in the HTML just after each testimonials cite. Not standalone as if it’s the last testimonial.

Sorry about that Michael – I apparently had to update the plugin twice because it was so out of date?? Anyway, the problem is fixed now – again I apologize for not thinking of that myself!! And thank you.

No problems. While you were checking that version 2.4.7 was up, I was also pushing out 2.4.8. Ciao!
