Add a description?

Is it possible to add a description for a download. Don’t see a mechanism to do that with the free plugin. Is there a paid-version of the plugin where this functionality would be possible? Just want to be able to add a few sentences of descriptive text for what a download is.

In July 2016 the author wrote on GitHub “I’ll get this merged as soon as I can”.
Honestly, the state of this forum here, the apparent pace of development… I really thought this was the right plugin until the requirement for descriptions arose. This thread lifted my hopes up and crushed them down shortly after ^^
Hell, the code above just had to be merged. I’m not saying that’s effortless but the code has already existed for more than half a year as of now and nothing has happened. There’s even a guy who provided translation files more than 11 months ago which are nowhere to be found in the plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/where-are-the-translations-1/ And there are literally posts older than a year that haven’t gotten any reply. I get it, premium support is for paying members and that’s okay. But having a forum where you don’t even answer in a YEAR, that’s just a joke.
I don’t think the developer has this plugin anywhere in his priority list. I’d love to be proven wrong here.
