Where’s the image you want to use? Upload it to the media library and post the link to it here.
Also, is that the original, unmodified header.php file?
the image is
Is that what you meant by a link?
yes, that’s the original unmodified header.php. I changed the colors in the custom css plugin, not the header file.
Okay, that’s fine – as is the image – let me fuss around with it on a test site.
Okay, so try adding this:
<div id="bio-image">
<img src="http://www.wilsonpuleo.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/header-image.jpg" alt="bio image" />
</div> <!-- end of #bio-image>
Right under this line:
<div class="site-branding">
Then add to custom CSS (or a child theme style.css file):
#bio-image img {
float: left;
}
We might need to change some other CSS but see where that gets to.
Thank you, I got the child theme created and activated and I followed your input directions. Image showed, YAY!! But the site title and tagline are missing and the text on the navigation menu is doubled.
If it’s a spacing issue I am ok with putting it above the search box too.
But the site title and tagline are missing
That was due to my mistake – sorry!
Fix that last line of the code to this:
</div> <!-- end of #bio-image -->
Then we do still need to fuss with some CSS.
Great, that worked to get the title back.
Is there a way to get the picture next to the site title? Do I need to change the font size or just put the code down a line?
Hey sorry I missed this until now – let me look at it as soon as I get to a better computer for CSS stuff – in the next hour or so :).
🙂 Thanks again for all your help. Take your time.
Okay, try changing the CSS to this – I think the one declaration you have is slightly different:
#bio-image {
float: left;
margin: 10px;
}
.site-branding {
margin-left: 0;
}
#header-right {
margin: 50px 50px 0 0;
}
h1.site-title {
clear: none;
font-size: 2.9em;
margin-top: 50px;
}
h2.site-description {
margin-left: 10px;
clear: none;
}
