Hello, Jan,
Technically, there should be no issues with WPRocket because our plugin works on the images, while WPRocket works on -well, practically- everything else.
However, in order for our plugin to produce any images in its cache, the images must be requested either by a mobile device or a browser in responsive web design mode. Are you sure that you have tested your website this way?
If you would like, I could do some external debugging myself, but the plugin must be activated at that time!
Cheers,
Takis
Hi Takis
sure – go to http://test.backenmachtgluecklich.de (user/pw “test” each time). The plugin is activated on this test environment.
thanks for your help
Jan
Hello, Jan,
Thank you for providing us a test installation! When I checked one of the images in it, that is http://test.backenmachtgluecklich.de/media/2016/12/Slider-pikante-Kinderezepte.jpg?debug=true (notice the ?debug=true
at the end of the image url) the response was the actual image itself. If the plugin was working alright, then it should have produced some debugging output.
So, it seems that the plugin is either not working at all or that it is simply ignoring that image. If everything else is alright and the plugin settings are saved an everything, could it be that the directory /media
is not set as a “watched” directory in the plugin settings page?
Cheers,
Takis
good catch. I’ve added the media folder to the ones being watched, and now also the folder “wp-content/cache/adaptive-images” got created. However I’ve called a few pages ith ~400px wide browser, but no images were created in the cache folder, and all of a sudden only empty image frames appear.
would you mind having another look?
thanks
Jan
Hello, again,
Well, you have to trick the “system” into thinking that a mobile device is requesting the images. Just resizing your browser is not enough, because the reported screen size is still the original. You need to either use an actual mobile device or put your browser in responsive design mode.
From what I can see now, the plugin is now working as expected!
Cheers,
Takis
